Broken Hill on noin 17 600 asukkaan[1] kaivoskaupunki Uuden Etelä-Walesin osavaltiossa Australiassa. Kaupungin kallioperässä on todennäköisesti maailman rikkaimmat hopea-, lyijy- ja sinkkivarannot, ja tämän johdosta siitä käytetään usein nimitystä "Silver City" ("hopeakaupunki").[2]


Kaupungissa syntyi 1880-luvulla kaivosyhtiö Broken Hill Proprietary Company Limited, josta kasvoi maailman suurin kaivosyhtiö BHP Billiton.[3] Broken Hillista tuli kaupunki vuonna 1907.[2]



Ilmasto |


Vuoden lämpimintä aikaa on tammikuu, jolloin keskimääräinen ylin lämpötila on yli 33 °C. Viileintä on kesäkuusta elokuuhun, jolloin keskimääräinen alin jää seitsemän asteen alapuolelle. Sadetta saadaan varsin vähän mutta ympäri vuoden, eniten joulukuussa 29 mm.[4]

Aasi (pallopeli) Navigointivalikko

PallopelitLeikit pallolla Aasi on yksinkertainen pallolla pelattava pallopeli, joka toimii lasten ja nuorten ajanvietteenä. Peliin tarvitaan pallo ja kolme pelaajaa. Kaksi pelaajaa ovat kaukana toisistaan (noin 10m) ja kolmas pelaaja on heidän keskellään. Kaukaisimmat pelaajat heittelevät palloa keskenään, ja keskimmäinen pelaaja, aasi, yrittää siepata pallon itselleen. Jos aasi saa pallon kiinni, hän pääsee sen pelaajan paikalle joka heitti pallon. Tämä peli esiintyy myös nimillä Piimä , Mummonkiusaus ja Kala . lähde? Aasi on myös nimitys toiselle pallopelille. Peliin tarvitaan vähintään kaksi pelaajaa sekä pallo.
