Dimensiottomat suureet

Deanin luku (De) on dimensioton suure, jota käytetään kierreputkien ja -kanavien yhteydessä. Deanin luku kuvaa keskipakovoimien suhdetta viskoosivoimiin ja määritellään yhtälöllä

De=Re(diD)1/2displaystyle De=Releft(frac d_iDright)^1/2

  • Re on Reynoldsin luku

  • didisplaystyle d_i on putken tai kanavan sisähalkaisija (m)

  • D on kierteisen putken tai kanavan muodostavan poikkileikkauksellisen ympyrän halkaisija (m)

Esimerkiksi donitsille d_i on donitsin putken sisähalkaisija ja D on koko donitsin halkaisija. Deanin lukua merkitään toisinaan myös symbolilla Dn.
