Andrew Hill


Andrew Hill (30. kesäkuuta 1931, Chicago, Yhdysvallat – 20. huhtikuuta 2007, Jersey City, Yhdysvallat) oli yhdysvaltalainen jazzpianisti ja säveltäjä.


Hill teki ensimmäisen levynsä vuonna 1959. Sooloura kuitenkin aukeni vasta vuonna 1961. Hän levytti 1960-luvulla viisi levyä omia sävellyksiään ja kahdeksan muuta levyä Blue Note -levy-yhtiölle. 1990-luvun taitteessa hän teki jälleen kaksi levyä, mutta uusi tuleminen siirtyi 1990-luvun loppupuolelle. Hänelle myönnettiin merkittävä tanskalainen Jazzpar-palkinto vuonna 2003.


Hill esiintyi Suomessa kolme kertaa: Turussa vuonna 1999, Pori Jazzissa vuonna 2002 ja Tampereella vuonna 2006.
