Pääartikkeli: Visby-luokan korvetti

Alus tilattiin 17. lokakuuta 1995 Kockums AB:n telakalta, jossa työt aloitettiin 17. joulukuuta 1996. Alus laskettiin vesille 8. kesäkuuta 2000 ja se luovutettiin tilaajan edustajille 10. kesäkuuta 2002. Suunnitelmien mukaan alus liitetään laivastoon vuonna 2012.[1]
